 We got Rose when she was
5 and she had not ever been given heartworm preventative. She
tested positive for heartworms and it was recommended that we take the
aggressive treatment route and give her two immeticide injections 2
months apart to kill the adult heartworms. A few weeks after the
first injection Rose got very sick and ended up with pneumonia so we
were unable to proceed with the next injection as scheduled. It
took her almost 2 months to get over the pneumonia and we really did
not want to get the second injection after that but we had already
started the treatment and didn’t want to stop halfway through.
Once the vet felt she was well enough to proceed we got her the second
injection and once again she got very sick and had fluid buildup in her
lungs. She now has two permanent lumps on her back where the
injections were given and it wouldn’t surprise us if she now has an
immunity to steroids and antibiotics since she spent almost 6 months on
them to get through the heartworm treatment. Unfortunately the aggressive heartworm treatment did not work and after a year Rose’s heartworms tests were still coming back positive. This is when we decided that we would not put Rose thorough another round of immeticide injections and that there had to be another alternative, so we began researching other methods. While researching holistic alternatives on the web we ran across an article about a woman name Diana Daffin who was opening up a holistic pet shoppe in Torringdon. We decided to go check it out and see if she had any suggestions or advice. Upon meeting Diana we knew instantly that we had made the right choice in going to Pawtique! Diana was very understanding and supportive of our decision to try a holistic approach and even called the manufacturer of the Giardia & Parasitic Detox formula to ensure we had the correct dosages and frequencies to start the treatment. She also told us about the Blood and Lymph Detox to keep Rose from having any issues with embolism’s from dead worms. We took Diana’s advice and bought both products and started the treatment that day along with continuing a monthly heartworm preventative. 8 weeks later Rose’s heartworm test came back negative!!!!!!!!! We are so thankful we found Diana and Pawtique! It very literally saved our little Rose’s life! Dear Diana, I am so sorry I haven't gotten this note to you sooner - I really really meant to !!! But I wanted to express my sincerely appreciation to you for all that you did to help me & my sick baby, ShaBoo. I will never forget, and have shared with many people, the evening you returned my frantic phone call & spent over 30 minutes talking to me - someone you had never met - who was absolutely distraught over her dog’s recent cancer diagnosis & his complete unwillingness to eat. As I had told you then, I had been online researching, as well as, visited and called about everywhere possible in an attempt to find ANYTHING - absolutely anything - to get ShaBoo to eat. I am so thankful for that phone call to you & for my visit to your store in April because you changed everything !!!!! After having purchased almost every kind of dog food possible-with no luck of him eating, you were exactly right in your recommendation......As reluctant as I was, I am so glad I listened to you & let's just say, ShaBoo loves his Steve's Real Food. I no longer have to beg, worry & plead with him – he loves it & eats it immediately. I have kept a daily log on ShaBoo since his diagnosis Christmas Day - logging his medicine, his food intact & his overall behavior, whether sick/ vomiting/etc. When I look back at it now, I am amazed at how long I worried & how many hours I used to sit & work with him just trying to get him to eat. You just don't know what a huge weight you lifted off my shoulders. I took ShaBoo in last week for a check-up - since it has been 6 months since his diagnosis I wanted to see how his blood work, labs, etc. looked. His vet hadn't seen him since March & was truly amazed at how good ShaBoo looked & acted. He is very straight forward & his exact words were that he definitely didn't want to upset me but he really expected ShaBoo to be much worse by now by the way he had been doing. Then after getting his lab results back, he called me to give me the great news......his lab work was wonderful. I'm not sure whether to attribute this to the food, the supplements you recommended or what - but regardless, I AM SO THANKFUL to you that he is doing so well. I truly do not think he would be without your help ! I honestly can't put into words how very much I thank you for ALL that you did for him - I will forever be indebted to you.
